Get a sympathetic ear as not being rabidly anti-gun, then pepper the story with factually incorrect data. The writer claims D.C.'s murder rate dropped after implementation of their gun ban in the late 1970's. This is incorrect. Within twenty years after the ban went into effect, D.C.'s murder rate tripled. D.C. has held the distinction of having more murders per capita since 1978 than any other city in the nation. You can respond to the writer if you wish. It will be interesting to see if he allows comments that correct him. He has yet to publish ours as of 7:35 AM Eastern.
