A 57-year-old Evanston man, John Ross Sr., is charged with two counts of felony attempted murder following an incident on May 3 where he allegedly fired shots at his family members after a verbal altercation. The shooting took place on Greenwood Street, resulting in four bullet holes and a flat tire on the victims’ van, though fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Ross, a repeat offender with four prior felony convictions, surrendered to police without incident. Authorities recovered shell casings from the scene, while no firearms were found at his residence during the search. Cook County Judge Anthony Calabrese has ruled that Ross will remain in custody throughout the pre-trial process, highlighting the seriousness of the charges against him.
