A Pittsfield woman is charged with armed robbery after allegedly brandishing a machete at a grocery store clerk during a theft at Big Y Supermarket. The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on June 10, when store employees reported that Collette Davis threatened them with the bladed weapon before leaving with a cart full of groceries.

Eyewitnesses expressed concern over safety at the store, noting that this was not the first time Davis had legal troubles with the staff. The machete used in the incident was recovered and has been secured as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
