In a major crackdown on violent crime, South Florida agencies have arrested 31 individuals during Operation Showdown, recovering 80 illegal firearms and over 900 rounds of ammunition. This two-month operation, which began in April, involved multiple agencies, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The investigation also resulted in the seizure of nearly 10 kilograms of narcotics, including methamphetamine and cocaine. Law enforcement officials emphasize that this coordinated effort highlights the importance of collaboration in enhancing community safety and reducing the influence of drugs and firearms in South Florida.
