Moylan clarified that while homeowners are protected under this doctrine, the law does not permit the use of deadly force solely to protect property from theft. He advised residents to consider aiming for non-lethal areas to avoid unnecessary fatalities, particularly citing scenarios where the use of force might be legally justified.
