Alton Rallies Aim to Stop Gun Violence After Shooting

Following a recent shooting incident that targeted a student, two rallies in Alton seek to address escalating gun violence in the community. The first rally is scheduled for noon on Saturday at the intersection of Central Avenue and Royal Street, led by community activists, while a second rally is planned for the following Thursday at the same location.

The shooting occurred as an Alton School bus was dropping off night school students, with witnesses reporting multiple shooters directing fire towards a student exiting the bus. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and police are currently investigating the incident, encouraging residents to provide any security footage that may aid their efforts.
