The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) has opened applications for a controlled waterfowl hunt event scheduled for October at the McClintic Wildlife Management Area in Mason County. This opportunity allows selected hunters to participate at no cost and brings the additional benefit of being able to invite one guest, providing a unique experience in the state’s first waterfowl season segment.
Applications are due by midnight on August 15, and the lottery winners will be notified by mail in early September. The hunt, taking place from October 4 to 12, aims to promote responsible wildlife resource management while enhancing access to quality hunting experiences, according to WVDNR Director Brett McMillion. For more details and to apply, interested hunters can visit the WVDNR website.
