The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is inviting hunters to apply for permit-based deer hunts in wildlife management areas (WMAs) from June 1 until July 1. These permits help manage the white-tailed deer population and enhance the hunting experience by limiting the number of hunters in popular areas.
Each application costs $5, allowing hunters to choose from various permit types, including youth, archery, and modern gun hunts. Notably, hunters aged 6 to 15 are eligible for youth hunts, promoting early engagement in the sport. Interested individuals can apply online through the AGFC website, with a unique party hunt option allowing groups of up to four to apply together.
