The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that multiple individuals entered the bank around 4:40 PM, believed to be armed, before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.
In response to reports of suspects seen running toward a nearby school, Carmel Middle School enacted a lockdown as a precautionary measure, although no students were on campus at the time.
