Garret Kent Loter, 24, is sentenced to eight years in prison for an armed robbery that occurred at a Wells Fargo ATM in Boulder in late October. Pleading guilty to one count of aggravated robbery, Loter faced additional charges initially but saw them dismissed as part of his plea deal.
The robbery itself unfolded at 9:30 p.m. when Loter, donning a black mask and hood, threatened a man making a deposit, demanding money while brandishing a firearm. Surveillance footage and a tattoo on Loter’s fingers helped police identify him as the suspect after a swift investigation sparked by public appeal.
