The Barrie Gun Club is gearing up for its fourth annual Ladies Charity Shoot, aiming to raise $16,000 for the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. Scheduled for June 14, this event not only introduces women to safe shooting practices but also seeks to support a local charity that provides essential services to youth affected by loss.
Organizer Karen Parisius shares a personal connection to the cause, having benefited from the program over 20 years ago when her husband passed. Parisius hopes to fund the participation of ten children in the program, which costs $1,600 per child for a year of support. With a low entry fee of $75 and a variety of shooting experiences available, the event promises to be both educational and impactful, reinforcing the importance of community support for grieving families.
