A 35-year-old Colorado Department of Corrections officer, Alexander Wolfgang Carpenter, is arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and recklessly using a firearm after an incident with his wife. On June 14, while arguing, Carpenter allegedly fired a gun into the air and left their home with the weapon, leading to police intervention.
Carpenter has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation by the agency. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
