The migratory bird hunting seasons in Connecticut kick off this month, with key openings for species like ducks, geese, and woodcock highlighted by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Among the changes this year, the early duck season has been eliminated in the South Zone, shifting to a continuous 60-day season, while hunters must acquire the 2024 Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation Stamp featuring artwork by local artist Sulan Zhang.
This year’s hunting calendar features a special September Resident Canada Goose Season beginning September 2 in the North Zone, and significant adjustments to species regulations, including a restricted 30-day season for Atlantic Population geese.
