Denver police officers shot an armed man multiple times in the Cole neighborhood on Thursday night, leaving him in critical condition. The incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a person with a firearm and encountered the suspect in an alley between Lafayette and North Humboldt streets, according to Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas.
Upon confrontation, the man displayed a handgun and allegedly made a threatening gesture, prompting officers to fire. Although the number of officers involved and the total shots fired remain unclear, police began administering medical aid before emergency responders transported the suspect to Denver Health, where he is currently undergoing surgery. The investigation into the shooting involves multiple agencies, including the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
