Agents from the 30th District Drug Task Force conducted routine criminal interdiction operations in Shelby County this past Tuesday when they discovered a suitcase containing several thousand dollars in cash, as well as deposit bags from 7-11. Further investigation revealed that this cash was stolen in an armed robbery approximately six hours earlier in Nashville, leading to the identification of at least one suspect.
Task Force Director Johnie Carter praised the work of his agents, noting the wide range of offenses encountered during their operations, which include severe crimes such as human trafficking and money laundering. Law enforcement is currently collaborating with Metro Nashville Robbery Detectives to recover the stolen money for the victim and apprehend those involved in the robbery.
