East Greenwich police have arrested 57-year-old Wilfredo Alarcon in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a Citizens Bank in Mystic, Connecticut. Alarcon, originally from Dorchester, Massachusetts, allegedly entered the bank on April 9 and threatened employees at gunpoint before fleeing in a vehicle later identified by law enforcement.
After a thorough investigation involving multiple agencies, Alarcon was apprehended on April 10 when officers recognized the suspect’s vehicle near Division Street. Although no firearm was found in the car, he faces serious charges including first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm, with a bond set at $400,000. Police commend the detectives for their rigorous 30-hour effort in securing the arrest warrant.
