The Cleveland FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in locating George Nakhle Ajaltouni, a former North Olmsted resident accused of smuggling firearms overseas by concealing them in used vehicles. Ajaltouni, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon, is implicated in a scheme where he allegedly purchased large quantities of pistols and rifles, hid them within car doors and body panels, and then shipped the vehicles to Lebanon. He has been evading arrest since a federal warrant was issued for his capture in connection with this smuggling operation.
Ajaltouni, who is believed to be living in Lebanon, may travel to Cyprus and France, complicating efforts to apprehend him. He has connections to another fugitive, Nakhle “Mike” Nader, also wanted by the FBI for related offenses. The FBI encourages anyone with information about Ajaltouni’s whereabouts to contact them directly, with assurances of anonymity for tipsters. The investigation highlights ongoing efforts to curtail illegal arms trafficking operations that pose significant national and international security risks.
