Feds Indict Ohio Couple on Firearm Charges

Federal prosecutors have unsealed an indictment against Alonzo Jackson, 31, and Tashia Fizer, charging them with multiple firearm offenses. Jackson faces serious allegations, including being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, while Fizer is charged with making a false statement to purchase a gun for Jackson.

The indictment, issued on March 18 and unveiled on March 25, highlights Jackson’s history, including a prior conviction for aggravated robbery that prohibits him from owning firearms. Law enforcement discovered a loaded gun on Jackson during an arrest in late November after a domestic assault report, raising questions about how firearms are accessed by individuals with criminal records.
