Fenton Man Shot by Police After Crash and Foot Chase

St. Charles police fatally shot a 21-year-old man from Fenton after a chase that began with a traffic stop early morning on May 19. The pursuit ended following a collision involving the suspect’s vehicle, resulting in a crash that overturned another car; the condition of its occupant remains unclear.

Officers located the driver shortly after he fled on foot, escalating the encounter when the man, reportedly armed with a handgun, was shot. The St. Charles police have placed the four involved officers on administrative leave, pending an investigation into the incident, which raises questions about the use of force and the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
