A Florence man pleads guilty to multiple wildlife violations following the illegal killing of a deer at Northampton’s Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary. This incident, which occurred on November 30, 2024, involved the man using artificial light, a prohibited method known as “spotlighting,” to locate the deer within the sanctuary’s protected boundaries.
During the investigation, authorities discovered a deceased white-tailed deer that had been taken unlawfully with a crossbow. The man faces several penalties, including $850 in fines, $500 in restitution, a one-year hunting license suspension, and probation.
