Concord police have charged 24-year-old Octavio Mercedes with four felonies, including robbery and felonious use of a firearm, following a violent incident that occurred during a Facebook Marketplace sale. The arrest stems from an alleged robbery outside the Petco on Forty Eddy Road, where the victim reported that Mercedes pointed a gun at him while attempting to sell an iPhone on April 14.
Investigators utilized surveillance footage, search warrants, and interviews to build their case against Mercedes, who was arraigned in Concord District Court. This isn’t Mercedes’ first brush with the law; he had a previous arrest in 2018 for receiving stolen property. The police have not disclosed the specific items Mercedes is accused of stealing during this latest incident.
