The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office is set to distribute 500 free gun safety kits during the county’s bicentennial celebration on June 28, aimed at promoting responsible firearm storage. Each kit will include a cable-style gun lock and an informational packet, emphasizing safety measures to prevent unauthorized access to firearms, especially by children.
Scheduled from noon to 9 p.m. at Warren County Community College, the bicentennial event will feature live entertainment, local food vendors, and conclude with fireworks. The initiative is part of Gun Safety and Violence Awareness Month, with officials encouraging all firearm owners to take proactive steps in safeguarding their weapons. “Together, we are taking proactive steps to prevent tragedy before it can occur,” Acting Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone states.
