A Clinton Township grandmother, Lisa Renee Christy, is charged with a firearms safe storage violation after her grandson allegedly brought a gun to Center Line High School. The investigation reveals that the teenager discovered an unsecured handgun and ammunition in Christy’s home before taking it to school, where he and two other students reportedly took selfies with it in a bathroom.
The incident led to a school lockdown on May 13 after a principal reported the gun’s presence. Christy, who has no prior criminal record, has been granted a personal bond set at $100,000 and is barred from possessing any weapons. Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido emphasized the importance of safe firearm storage laws, stating that such violations can lead to dangerous situations that disrupt school safety and the learning environment.
