Gun Instructor Highlights Safety After Oceanfront Arrests

After recent arrests related to gun violence at Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront, gun safety instructor Joel Jones emphasizes the necessity of understanding local firearm laws. This week, Virginia Beach police arrested three men for possessing illegal automatic weapons, including a machine gun and a trigger activator, which—and under Virginia law—can lead to severe felony charges and up to five years in prison.

Jones, representing Strong Arms Gun Club, advocates for education on firearm safety and legality, cautioning against the dangers of modified weapons. He stresses the importance of responsible gun ownership, stating, “It’s not worth losing your freedom.” With Virginia’s overall gun violence showing signs of decline, the recent incidents highlight ongoing public safety concerns and the vital role of proper gun education in preventing such occurrences.
