Gun shows are making a significant comeback in the United States as demand for firearms and ammunition skyrockets post-COVID-19 cancellations. Since August, over 60 gun shows have been scheduled each weekend across the country, totaling 315 for October, following a period where up to 75% of shows were canceled due to the pandemic.
The rise in attendance coincides with heightened interest in gun ownership, driven by concerns over civil unrest and potential changes in gun control legislation as the election approaches. As many as 28.82 million background checks have been processed this year, setting a new record, with some shows reporting 600 to 700 attendees—far surpassing pre-pandemic numbers.
