A Houston man, Charles Holmes, has been charged with identity fraud and possession of a firearm after being caught using someone else’s social security and driver’s license numbers. The arrest occurred while Constable Mark Herman’s office was responding to previous reports of suspicious activity at an apartment complex, leading them to Holmes, who was staying in an apartment under false pretenses.
Authorities discovered a firearm in Holmes’ possession, which is significant given his status as a convicted felon. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail with a bond set at $5,000. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat identity fraud and illegal firearm possession in the community. To enhance public safety, the Constable’s Office also launched a new mobile app, “C4 NOW,” which provides real-time updates on crime and arrests in Harris County.
