Idaho AG Backs New Second Amendment Task Force

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador publicly announces his support for the formation of a Second Amendment Task Force, joining a coalition of attorneys general from 26 states. In a letter to Attorney General Pamela Bondi, Labrador emphasizes that the Second Amendment is a “binding constitutional guarantee” meant to safeguard individual liberty against government overreach, marking a significant stance amidst ongoing debates over gun rights.

This initiative, spearheaded by West Virginia AG JB McCuskey, aims to create a collaborative space focused on strategies to defend Second Amendment rights, contrasting sharply with policies from the Biden administration, which the coalition describes as exhibiting “troubling animus” against gun ownership. The coalition encompasses states including Alabama, Alaska, and Texas, and intends to offer support for litigation and regulatory reform through this Task Force.
