The Lancaster County Health Advisory Council announces a collaborative initiative focused on safe firearm storage, incorporating education and resources for local health practitioners. Launched by the Lancaster County Safe Storage Initiative, this program aims to equip emergency medicine and pediatric providers to discuss firearm safety with patients, alongside distributing cable locks to firearm owners in the community.

The program aims to make a significant impact on gun safety, especially following alarming statistics concerning firearm-related suicides among youth in the area.
