Long Branch Man Convicted of Home Invasion, Homicide

A Long Branch man, Altonia D. Williams, 47, is found guilty of 18 charges stemming from an armed home invasion and a fatal vehicular crash that occurred in August 2023. His convictions include armed robbery and felony murder, as Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago confirms Williams could face life in prison when he is sentenced later this year.

The case details reveal that the night of the incident, Williams brandished a firearm during a home invasion, leading to a police chase that resulted in a crash, ultimately causing the death of his passenger, Tracee Blount, 38. The investigation determined that Williams was under the influence of marijuana and was found attempting to evade capture by hiding near the crash site after abandoning the severely injured Blount.
