Avion Vaccaro, 23, pleads guilty to two counts of armed robbery in connection with a 2022 shooting incident in Madison that injured two teenagers. The shooting took place outside a McDonald’s, where Vaccaro and his co-defendant, Jamari Mondie, opened fire on a vehicle containing a 16 and an 18-year-old.
This plea comes as Mondie previously accepted a plea deal for two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and received a 12-year prison sentence. While two attempted homicide charges against Vaccaro were dismissed, they were read into the record, suggesting the severity of his actions. He is scheduled for sentencing on August 1.
