Massapequa Man Indicted for Illegal Weapons and Impersonation

Andrew Denton, a 27-year-old from Massapequa, has been indicted on numerous felony charges, including the illegal possession of rifles and impersonating a police officer. Authorities allege Denton discharged firearms in public spaces, including the Massapequa Preserve and residential backyards, between October 2022 and September 2023, raising concerns about community safety.

The Nassau County District Attorney’s office states that Denton faces up to 15 years in prison for each violent felony if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty, and his bail is set at $100,000 cash. Notably, he is not alone in facing charges; several alleged co-defendants have been implicated in the firearm incidents, adding a layer of complexity to this case.
