Mike Epps and Ryan Mears Host Youth Gun Violence Roundtable

Comedian Mike Epps collaborates with Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears to host a roundtable discussion aimed at addressing youth gun violence in Indianapolis. The event, held on Tuesday, serves as a proactive measure to engage local youth in conversations about their experiences and solutions regarding gun violence, particularly as summer months pose unique challenges.

During the roundtable, participants are encouraged to voice their concerns and ideas about reducing violence in their communities. “You want to make sure that before something escalates, before something gets bigger, you are able to stop it,” shared Micah Person, an 8th grader at Vision Academy. The discussions will be recorded, with plans to produce a podcast episode that highlights the young voices in the community, focusing on violence prevention initiatives.
