NC Lawmakers File Nearly 300 Bills in 2025 Session

As North Carolina’s 2025 legislative session progresses, lawmakers have introduced nearly 300 bills, with significant attention on expanding gun rights and funding disaster recovery. Notable among these is House Bill 5, the North Carolina Constitutional Carry Act, which aims to allow adults 18 and older to carry concealed weapons without a permit, a radical shift in current gun laws.

In addition to the gun legislation, the General Assembly is working on funding for recovery from Hurricane Helene, with a proposed $275 million package allocated for home repairs, agricultural support, and infrastructure grants. This session also includes a variety of election-related bills aimed at changing voting processes, making the outcomes of the 2025 session critical for North Carolina residents.
