O.C. Police Seize Over 1,300 Pounds of Illegal Fireworks

A special investigations unit in Orange County has seized 1,339 pounds of illegal fireworks, a firearm, and narcotics during a recent crackdown ahead of the 4th of July holiday. This operation resulted in three arrests as detectives contacted vendors selling prohibited fireworks, ensuring community safety during the festive period.

Among the confiscated items are 2,900 counterfeit Xanax pills and an ounce of cocaine, raising significant concerns about the underground market connected to illegal fireworks. With legal fireworks only permitted between specific hours in Costa Mesa, police urge residents to report illegal sales by calling 714-754-5252, reminding everyone that violating these laws can lead to severe penalties.
