Oakley police apprehend a 17-year-old boy for riding a dirt bike without a helmet and evading officers, ultimately discovering an untraceable ghost gun on his person. The incident unfolded on Saturday at around 7:52 PM, when Officer Hernandez observed the rider trying to escape through a parking lot, only to be caught moments later after a short pursuit.
Upon detaining the juvenile, officers found the unloaded ghost pistol, a firearm known for its lack of serial numbers, making it difficult to trace. Given the serious nature of the offenses, the Oakley Police Department emphasized their concern regarding juveniles with firearms, yet opted to cite the youth for multiple charges, including possession of a concealed firearm, before releasing him to his father’s custody due to Juvenile Hall’s refusal to accept him.
