Opp Police Investigate Early Morning Armed Robbery

The Opp Police Department is actively seeking two suspects involved in an armed robbery at the Tom Thumb store early Wednesday morning. At approximately 3:16 a.m., two young black males allegedly threatened the store clerk with a handgun and fled the scene after obtaining cash. Law enforcement has since discovered that the weapon used in the crime was a toy gun, prompting a more extensive search for the suspects.

Officials describe one suspect as wearing all black clothing with white details on his shoes, while the other was noted to have a red jacket and purple Reebok backpack. The police encourage residents to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity during the time frame of 2:45 to 3:30 a.m. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Opp Police Department or submit tips anonymously through local crime stoppers.
