Perry County deputies successfully recover multiple stolen firearms and an estimated $4,000 in jewelry following a burglary investigation. On June 15, deputies responded to a call about a break-in, where thieves entered through a back door, stealing three handguns, two rifles, a shotgun, and a valuable jewelry box before fleeing in the homeowner’s vehicle.
The quick thinking of the deputies was crucial; the vehicle, equipped with OnStar, enabled police to track it to a specific location later that evening. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies discovered the stolen items, including all stolen firearms and jewelry, at the suspect’s residence. Authorities have now identified a suspect, and the investigation is ongoing as they continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding this crime.
