Philadelphia Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Stolen Gun

A 27-year-old Philadelphia man, Nafis Lloyd-Allen, pleads guilty to multiple firearm-related charges stemming from a traffic stop in Lower Merion Township. Lloyd-Allen admitted to possessing a stolen Glock 9mm handgun after police discovered it during a search of the vehicle he was driving, which was flagged for erratic behavior. Now awaiting sentencing, he could face up to 14 years in prison, although sentencing guidelines may allow for a lesser sentence.

During the June 2024 traffic stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana and noted Lloyd-Allen’s nervous demeanor. He eventually revealed that he had stolen the gun from a co-worker at a fast food restaurant, who had previously displayed the firearm during their shifts. The incident highlights not just the legal ramifications for Lloyd-Allen but also how firearms can circulate illegally among individuals prohibited from possessing them.
