Niagara Regional Police are intensifying their investigation into an armed robbery that occurred at the Meridian Credit Union in Wainfleet on May 29. Three masked suspects, one wielding a handgun and another brandishing a machete-like weapon, executed the robbery and fled in a white Honda Civic EX, believed to be a 2019-2021 model with visible damage.
In an appeal for public assistance, detectives request that residents and business owners check their video footage for any leads during the timeframe of 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. No injuries were reported among bank employees or customers, yet the suspects—described as thin males in dark clothing with skeleton masks—are still at large, and police emphasize the importance of community vigilance.
