An officer with the Rock Hill police shot a woman on Saturday evening after she allegedly pointed a firearm at a York County deputy. This incident began around 6 PM when deputies responded to reports of a woman in a burgundy Jeep shooting from the vehicle, which escalated when she threatened an approaching deputy with her gun before fleeing the scene.
Following a pursuit involving stop sticks to deflate the Jeep’s tires, the vehicle was halted by police. Despite multiple attempts to negotiate her surrender, a Rock Hill police officer fired a shot that struck the woman in the shoulder. Currently hospitalized in stable condition, her identity remains undisclosed, and the State Law Enforcement Division is now investigating the circumstances surrounding this police encounter.
