A 55-year-old San Mateo man, Daniel Lee Erickson, is arrested after allegedly threatening his former girlfriend with a firearm while forbidding her to leave his residence. Following the incident, police secured a gun violence restraining order and a search warrant for Erickson’s home, leading to a troubling discovery of various weapons, including a cane sword and metal knuckles.
The San Mateo Police Department reported that during the search, officers found black powder firearms, accessories for melting metal, and even a loaded weapon. Erickson now faces several serious charges, including assault with a firearm and unlawful possession of tear gas, as authorities work to address the escalating concern over domestic violence and illegal weapon possession in the community.
