Santa Maria police have successfully apprehended two suspects linked to a string of armed robberies that took place earlier this year at local businesses. Raul Muniz, a 34-year-old from King City, was taken into custody on May 6, 2025, followed by the arrest of Carlos Aguirre, a 30-year-old Santa Maria resident, on July 3, 2025, after immediate investigations unraveled their connection to the crimes.
During the two robberies, which occurred at the Sunrise Market and Maguey Liquor, both suspects brandished handguns, raising concerns in the community. The Santa Maria Police Department continues to encourage anyone with additional information to contact Detective Whitney, underscoring their commitment to public safety and crime prevention in the area.
