A 49-year-old Springfield resident, Anthony A. Perry, is apprehended after a series of armed robberies at the same credit union within four days. The Springfield Police, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Perry on May 14, following two incidents where he allegedly brandished a weapon and demanded cash from employees at the Land of Lincoln Credit Union.
On May 10 and May 13, Perry entered the credit union twice, first reportedly armed with a knife, and successfully fled with undisclosed amounts of money. A police investigation revealed distinct descriptions for Perry, including clothing details that helped identify him as the suspect. He remains in custody at the Sangamon County Jail, with authorities urging anyone with additional information to reach out to the Springfield Police Department.
