Springfield Police have seized eight illegal firearms, including two ghost guns and a fully automatic machine gun, in coordinated raids on Fort Pleasant Avenue. The operation, which began with an investigation into a drug distribution network, resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including the primary target, 33-year-old Michael Pinkney, who was found with approximately 90 bags of heroin.

The raids follow a broader crackdown on illegal firearms, with 11 weapons confiscated in just over 30 hours, raising concerns about public safety and the prevalence of unregistered firearms in the area.
