Three students are injured in a shooting that occurred just after school dismissal outside Chicago Bulls College Prep on the Near West Side. One of the victims, a 16-year-old boy, suffers a serious injury to his lower back, while two 15-year-olds—a girl shot in the leg and a boy who was grazed—are reported in good condition at Stroger Hospital.
As police investigate the incident, which happened around 2:45 p.m. on Friday, no arrests have been made. The school’s spokesperson confirms all those injured are students, and additional support resources will be provided to the community by Monday to address the emotional impact of the violence.
