Brandon Evan Williams, recently released from prison, is in custody following the armed robbery of Summerville United Bank on April 21. Authorities apprehended Williams on April 23 without incident, leveraging the resources of the U.S. Marshals Task Force after he allegedly demanded cash from a teller while implying he was armed, despite not displaying a weapon during the incident.
Williams, who has a prior felony conviction for a bank robbery in 2017, was apprehended thanks to a multi-agency investigation that included K-9 units and collaborative efforts from local law enforcement. Summerville Police Chief Doug Wright commended the swift actions of his officers, who identified the suspect just hours after the robbery occurred. He remains at the Dorchester County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
