Suspect Sought in Winona Convenience Store Robbery

Law enforcement agencies are actively searching for an armed robbery suspect following an incident at the Courtesy Mart in Winona on Tuesday morning. The Smith County Sheriff’s Office reports that the robbery occurred around 10:30 a.m. when a Black male suspect, armed with a handgun, threatened a clerk and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot towards a nearby liquor store.

The suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 with a medium build, wearing a black mask, grey hoodie, and blue jeans. To aid in the search, the sheriff’s office is deploying K-9 units and drones, urging the public to avoid the area as the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
