Teen Shot in Dallas, Crashes Car into Fence

Dallas police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy who crashed his car into a fence after being shot on Sunday afternoon. Officers responded around 5:30 p.m. in the Cedar Crest neighborhood, where they discovered the driver, identified as Casey Smith, had already sustained gunshot wounds before losing control of the vehicle in the 1500 block of E. Overton Road.

Smith was initially transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. At this time, investigators have not revealed any details regarding potential motives for the shooting or any suspects involved. The police continue to seek public assistance and urge anyone with information to contact Detective Laurent Swanson.
