A 16-year-old was shot and killed by his accomplices during an attempted car break-in in St. Louis early Friday morning, according to police. Surveillance footage shows a group of six suspects emerging from a vehicle and breaking into a Chevrolet Suburban when they suddenly begin firing guns in all directions after being startled.
Eyewitness Robert Casseus described seeing the teenager lying on the ground after the shooting, and the group abandoned him at a hospital, where he later died. Authorities believe this incident may be connected to a string of similar car break-ins reported earlier in the area, prompting an investigation in collaboration with nearby law enforcement agencies.
