Three people are facing charges following a shooting incident early Friday morning in downtown Des Moines, where three handguns were recovered by police. Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire on Ingersoll Avenue, later discovering that the altercation had occurred on Court Avenue, fueled by a dispute that escalated dangerously.
The incident involved 38-year-old Antowarren Bailey, who allegedly threatened to retrieve a gun from his vehicle, prompting 25-year-old Mikkah Lyke to fire a shot. Authorities later identified Shateanna Vang, 24, who was found with a handgun. Bailey and Vang have been charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon While Under the Influence, while Lyke faces charges for Reckless Use of a Firearm, as the investigation by Des Moines Police continues.
